We hope everyone's holidays were (and are, for some!) pleasant and restful. All batteries need recharging, even those that could use in fact a pair of new terminals.
Please be advised (and govern yourself accordingly!): that the next Colbar monthly lunch (and first of this year's vintage, 2008 in case you slept through the fall of the giant tangerine in Brooksville, Florida) will take place at 12h00 on January 31, 2008 at Mondong's, 3500 NW 87th Ave Doral, FL 33172 Tel: (305) 718-4977 AND website: www.mondongos.com.co. The food is Colombian and excellent, expecially the eponymous Mondongo (look it up!).
AT THE MEETING: We will be electing our new board of directors for 2008. All Colbar members being current as regards their dues ($50 a year, much less for students) can volunteer to be candidates (interesting thought from a political scientific standpoint!). Michael Currea has proposed as candidates all current members of the Board, i.e., the following: Board of Directors Elected on 1-18-07: Linda Braswell - Michael Currea - Iris G. Hernandez -Walter Reynoso - Marco Rojas - Sandra Velez-Felfle - Frederick Woodbridge. Carlos Aguiar in addition is a candidate. Anyone else, please come forth by the 20th of January by emailing your name and candidature desire to Mike Currea (mcurrea@netzero.net).
