Martha Liliana Arias currently serves as the President of Colbar- Colombian American Bar Association she is the founder and sole owner of Arias Villa LLC, a full-service immigration law firm located in Miami, Fl. Martha has been exclusively and successfully practicing U.S. immigration law for the past 17 years; she has relevant experience with removal defense cases, USCIS and the National Visa Center cases, and also business visas, particularly investors visas.
Martha obtained her Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University, School of Law; she also has a Master’s Degree in Comparative Law with emphasis in International Law from the University of Miami, School of Law, and a juris doctor degree from Colombia- a Civil Law system. Martha is fluent in English and Spanish. Martha is admitted to practice law in Florida; she is also admitted to practice before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern District of Florida. Martha has litigated immigration cases before the 11th and 9th Circuit Court, the Southern and Middle District of Florida, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO).
Martha has been invited to comment about immigration law by several media outlets in South Florida, such as La Mega TV, Channel 17th, “Canal Uno” (Colombia), Actualidad Radio, and Caracol Radio among others. Additionally, Martha has a weekly radio program about immigration law who has aired for the past 13 years.
Martha is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 2007. Martha was a member of the AILA South Florida Executive Board of Directors for the year 2018-2019, and has participated in several AILA committees including the Department of Labor Committee, USCIS Liaison Committee, the Federal Litigation Committed, the ICE/OCC committee, the EOIR Committee, among others. Martha is also a member of the AILA National Litigation Section and has participated in the Day of Action in Washington. Martha is also an accomplished writer. She has written more than 2,000 articles about Internet law published by IBLS.COM and is the senior editor for a book published by Oxford University about Internet law and taxation. Martha was nominated one of the Top Ten Immigration Attorneys in Florida by the Better Business Bureau in 2019.
